This week Fast Company released it's list of Most influential women in technology and I was on it. Of course I am honored to be included in this remarkable group of women. There are many women I admire greatly including Marissa Mayer and Mary Meeker. Previous winner include many women that are friends and who have wide influence on technology.
What is really exciting about being on this list, is the way in which it happened. Fast Company put out an open call for the community to recommend women for the list, and our Community responded. Many members of the Anita Borg Institute's Advisory board , as well as members of our ambassadors took up the call because they believe in ABI. Our community suggested me - on their blogs, on twitter, through the Fast Company web site. It was exciting to see the impact it had. Jerri Barrett, ABI's VP of Marketing and BJ Wishinski, ABI's community manager led the charge.
I am honored of course, but more important I am reminded of the collective power of our community. Thank you.
