The Highest Leaf awards honor women who take risks, demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit or vision in managing uncertainty, and their continued commitment to mentoring others.
What was particularly inspiring for me was to meet the two other women who received the award. Jennifer Fortner was from Goldman Sachs, and Phyllis Tabachnick was from Bear Stearn's (the fourth winner was unable to attend). Both of these women are very successful in their chosen career. But both of them talked about bringing their whole selves to their job - they talked about their family, and how important their family was to their life. Both are very involved with their community. Many successful women bring these three parts of their life together - work, family, community.
